IronSpire Hires David Smith of Analogy, Inc. as Vice President of Engineering

PORTLAND, OR - August 15, 2000 - IronSpire, Inc. today announced that it has hired David Smith as the company's Vice President of Engineering. Smith brings over twenty years of experience managing technology start-ups and a strong understanding of CAD systems to IronSpire, where he will work to develop IronSpire's suite of project management services.

IronSpire offers a number of web-based services designed to streamline construction project management. Since CAD systems are driving the information flow of construction projects, IronSpire needed an expert in the field who could evaluate new technology partners to determine how well they would fit with IronSpire's other services. Smith was actively recruited because of his success as Vice President of Advanced Product Development and Chief Scientist at Analogy (www.analogy.com), a local CAD company he co-founded in 1986. He has also served as President of the Oregon Software Association, creating strong ties to the local technology community.

"We were looking for the exactly the right talent- someone with technical depth but who also would be open to working with other solution providers," explains IronSpire CEO Robert Ellis. "David has the intellectual curiosity, strong management experience and level of trust that we needed from our VP of Engineering. I'm very happy to have him on the IronSpire team."

"IronSpire's management has a clear focus on a market with a well defined need, and has created a tailored solution with space to grow into new verticals," says Smith. "More importantly, I think the company is ahead of the curve in terms of software distribution and use of web technology. IronSpire has a strong future, and I'm eager to be part of its success."
