The Industry Solution Awards are designed to reward the best solutions using Microsoft technologies—specifically Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server, Windows NT® Server, and SQL Server™—to help organizations serve customers, manage information, and make informed, effective business decisions.

Three finalists in each of the following categories were announced in October. Winners, chosen by a panel of industry-expert judges, were announced at an awards presentation during the Comdex/Fall 2000 Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Best Customer Relationship Portal Solution This category recognizes the best enterprise portal for employees, partners, and customers that provides an integrated, personalized view and functionality for sales, marketing, and service professionals.

Best Customer Service Solution This category recognizes the solution that best demonstrates how scalable call center technology increases customer satisfaction and customer retention, and makes customer service representatives more efficient and productive while handling large volumes of customer interactions through voice/telephony and Internet media.
		Winning Solution Onyx Software – Onyx 2000  Onyx 2000 enabled Columbine JDS, a Denver-based software and consulting firm, to more effectively share information between partners and customers, building greater customer loyalty by providing enhanced customer service. Best Mobile Sales/Service Solution This category recognizes the solution that best demonstrates how mobile sales automation technology provides top-line revenue growth and makes direct sales representatives more efficient and productive when visiting customers or traveling.
		Winning Solution ON!contact Software Corp. – Client Management Software (CMS)  Client Management Software (CMS) was used by Foremost Insurance to automate its communications with its mobile sales force, uniting all front-office operations under a single application and greatly reducing postage, travel and support costs. Best Workflow and Tracking Solution This category recognizes the best solution that automates information flow in a way that facilitates work delivery, processing, and completion within strategic, functional, or administrative business processes.
		Winning Solution Sourcesmith Industries Inc.– Olympic Equipment Management Systems (OEMS)  Olympic Equipment Management Systems enabled NBC Olympics to manage its supply chain, including purchasing, expediting and inventory control, and provides the finance and operations teams with the information they need to pay suppliers, reconcile accounts and transfer equipment within NBC, and track all the assets required for the production of the 2000 Olympic Games.
