If you have ever tried to leverage a new technology across a company,
you know that is difficult at best. It won't happen unless you
are convinced of and can demonstrate its benefits to the rest of the team.
Generally, demos and sales pitches won't do it - you must try the product, in
real situations, before you can truly back it.
Opportunity:
Champion a new technology.
Tactic: Pilot
Projects - Some
web-based project management vendors recognize the need to "try out" new
software and on a project basis for minimal cost.
Get a core team together to try the software on a pilot
project. The
sucessful team can then advocate the benefits to management and
other project managers.
