Successful Project Managers share their secrets with IronSpire		Tip #2 - Put First Things First As margins shrink and competition increases, companies are looking for ways to streamline their operations. As management gets the efficiency bug, companies often try and improve many processes at the same time.  This can be overwhelming, incredibly frustrating and actually lead to more waste. Instead, focus on improving one critical area. Ask yourself Where are we the most inefficient? What causes the most mistakes? What causes schedule delays?  Start there - once that process is more efficient, tackle the next area. Opportunity: Improve the way RFIs are handled, so that they are resolved in hours instead of days, minimizing schedule delays and costs. Tactic:  Online collaboration tools can dramatically improve communication across the team, decreasing the turnaround time for RFIs. Some of the ways these tools help: Email notifications alert team members to items that require attention. People can respond instantly to an issue, instead of playing phone tag. Logs track response time, add to accountability and exert friendly "peer pressure". All responses and documents are stored in a central location; nothing gets lost and time isn't wasted rifling through binders or re-faxing documents others have misplaced.
