Extensible Markup Language, or XML, has been getting a
lot of press as more companies are starting to embrace the technology.
IronSpire has been using XML for over a year to facilitate the exchange of
information between IronSpire's online project sites and accounting
systems such as Intuit Master Builder, Microsoft Solomon and Timberline.
But what is XML? According to Microsoft, "Extensible
Markup Language (XML) is the universal format for data on the Web. XML allows
developers to easily describe and deliver rich, structured data from any
application in a standard, consistent way."
